Updated August 2026 | By Tanya Rivera, Crestview, Florida REALTOR® and local real estate resource

If you're moving to Crestview, Florida, one of the first questions you may have is: What are the schools like in Crestview, FL?

Crestview is served primarily by the Okaloosa County School District, which received an A district grade for 2026from the Florida Department of Education.

Families in Crestview have access to primary, elementary, middle and high schools, along with the new Pineview School, a K–8 campus that opened for the 2026–2027 school year.

I'm Tanya Rivera, REALTOR® with The Property Group 850, and I'm a Crestview local who helps families understand what it's actually like to live, work, raise a family and buy a home in Crestview and Northwest Florida.

This guide is not intended to tell you which Crestview school is "best." Every student and family has different needs.

Instead, I'll help you understand Crestview school zones, school grades, programs, activities and practical considerations when choosing where to live in Crestview, Florida.

Quick Answer: What Schools Are in Crestview, Florida?

Some of the public schools serving Crestview families include:

Primary and Elementary Schools

  • Southside Primary School

  • Antioch Elementary School

  • Walker Elementary School

  • Northwood Elementary School

  • Riverside Elementary School

  • Bob Sikes Elementary School

K–8

  • Pineview School

Middle Schools

  • Davidson Middle School

  • Shoal River Middle School

High School

  • Crestview High School

Other nearby schools and educational options may also be available depending on a family's address, enrollment eligibility and individual circumstances.

Important: A Crestview mailing address does not guarantee attendance at a particular Crestview school.

Use the official Okaloosa County School District School Site Locator to verify the school currently assigned to a specific property.

Are Crestview, Florida Schools Part of an A-Rated School District?

Yes. Crestview public schools are part of the Okaloosa County School District, which received an A district grade for 2026 from the Florida Department of Education.

Parents can research current and historical school accountability information directly through the Florida Department of Education School Accountability Reports.

School grades can be useful when researching an area, but they should not be the only factor families consider.

Programs, student services, transportation, childcare, extracurricular activities, school culture and the individual needs of your child may be equally important.

How Do I Find Which Crestview School My House Is Zoned For?

This is one of the most important things to understand when buying a home in Crestview, FL.

Never assume the school based solely on the home's mailing address, neighborhood or an old real estate listing.

Crestview continues to grow, and school attendance boundaries can change. The opening of Pineview School for the 2026–2027 school year resulted in changes to attendance zones in northern Okaloosa County.

Before purchasing a home:

  1. Identify the property's exact street address.

  2. Visit the official Okaloosa County School District website.

  3. Use the School Site Locator.

  4. Select the correct school year.

  5. Enter the property's address.

  6. Verify enrollment and zoning directly with the district when necessary.

If transportation is important, families can also use the district's Transportation and Bus Route resources to research zoned schools and bus stops.

Southside Primary School

Grades: Pre-K–2

Southside Primary School serves some of Crestview's youngest students.

This school is particularly special to me because my daughter attended Southside.

Because Southside serves students only through second grade, parents shouldn't automatically interpret the absence of the traditional Florida A–F school grade the same way they would for schools serving tested grade levels.

Programs and resources may include:

  • VPK

  • Before- and after-school care

  • Literacy resources

  • Military-family resources

  • Classroom library access

  • Physical education and wellness activities

  • School and community events

For young students, extracurricular activities tend to focus more on movement, wellness and school activities rather than the competitive athletic programs found in middle and high school.

Antioch Elementary School

Antioch Elementary serves families on the western/southwestern side of the Crestview area.

Antioch earned an A school grade in 2024, 2025 and 2026 according to the information reviewed for this guide.

Programs and activities include resources such as:

  • Childcare

  • Physical education

  • Media center

  • Classroom libraries

  • PTO

  • School Advisory Council

  • Military-family support

  • Wellness resources

  • Running Club

Elementary athletics are different from middle and high school athletics, but activities such as Running Club provide younger children opportunities to stay active, develop teamwork and become involved in their school.

Walker Elementary School

Walker Elementary has some personal history for me because I attended Walker when I was growing up in Crestview.

Walker moved from a B school grade in 2024 to an A in 2025 and maintained an A in 2026.

Resources and programs include:

  • Childcare

  • Physical education

  • Guidance

  • Media center

  • Title I resources

  • Student Ambassador opportunities

The Student Ambassador program is particularly interesting for families looking for opportunities that introduce children to leadership and school involvement.

Extracurricular offerings can change from school year to school year, so families should verify current activities directly with the school.

Northwood Elementary School

Northwood Elementary earned an A school grade in 2026.

Programs and resources include:

  • Title I support

  • Childcare

  • Media center

  • Military-family services

  • Resources for families of students with autism

  • Kindergarten Kickstart

I especially like programs such as Kindergarten Kickstart because school quality isn't represented by a letter grade alone.

For an incoming kindergartener, simply having an opportunity to become comfortable with the campus and teachers before the first full day of school can make a meaningful difference.

Riverside Elementary School

Riverside Elementary is located along Redstone Avenue on the eastern side of Crestview.

Riverside earned an A school grade in 2026.

Resources include:

  • Title I reading services

  • Media resources

  • PTO

  • School Advisory Council

  • Military-family support

  • Boys & Girls Club programming

A Local Tip for Families Considering This Area

Riverside Elementary and Shoal River Middle School are both located in the Redstone Avenue area.

If you're considering buying a home nearby, don't simply calculate the distance to school using Google Maps.

Drive Redstone Avenue during actual morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.

You'll get a much better idea of the daily routine involving buses, walkers, bicycles, crossing guards and parent pickup traffic.

That kind of local information can matter just as much as the mileage between your house and school.

Bob Sikes Elementary School

Bob Sikes Elementary received a B school grade in 2026.

Programs and resources include:

  • Title I resources

  • Literacy programs

  • Classroom and media-center resources

  • Technology

  • Physical education

  • Guidance

  • Childcare

  • PTO

  • School Advisory Council

  • Family reading events

Bob Sikes is a good example of why parents shouldn't evaluate an entire school based on a single letter.

The school grade is one data point.

Childcare, literacy resources, teachers, leadership, parent involvement and your child's connection to the school community can tell you another part of the story.

Pineview School: Crestview's New K–8 School

One of the biggest changes to Crestview schools for 2026–2027 is Pineview School.

Pineview School opened in August 2026 as a new K–8 campus at 5200 Enzor Road in Crestview.

Learn more through the official Pineview School website.

Because Pineview is brand new, parents shouldn't expect years of historical school grades or longstanding athletic records yet.

The first students, teachers and families are creating that history now.

The K–8 model also means eligible students can potentially remain on the same campus from kindergarten through eighth grade.

Programs and developing resources include:

  • Childcare

  • Military-family resources

  • Mental-health and wellness resources

  • Middle-school programming

  • Cheerleading

  • Dance

  • Football

For families considering homes in this portion of Crestview, Pineview's opening is another reason it is critical to verify the current school zone for an individual address.

Middle Schools in Crestview, Florida

Davidson Middle School

Davidson Middle School is located at 6261 Old Bethel Road in Crestview and earned an A school grade in both 2025 and 2026 according to the information researched for this guide.

Families can research current school information through the Okaloosa County School District.

Shoal River Middle School

Shoal River Middle School is located at 3200 Redstone Avenue in Crestview.

For families considering neighborhoods on the eastern side of Crestview, Shoal River is one of the middle schools you'll frequently hear discussed.

Always verify attendance eligibility using your exact home address rather than assuming proximity determines enrollment.

Crestview High School

Crestview High School is located at 1250 North Ferdon Boulevard, Crestview, FL 32536.

Students throughout designated Crestview attendance areas may ultimately feed into Crestview High School, but families should verify current zoning directly through Okaloosa County School District.

What Should Parents Look for Besides School Ratings?

When researching schools in Crestview, Florida, don't stop at the letter grade.

Consider asking:

Does the school offer before- or after-school care?

For working parents, childcare availability can have a major impact on everyday life.

What student support programs are available?

Research literacy support, Title I resources, guidance, special programs, military-family resources and wellness services.

What extracurricular activities are offered?

Clubs, athletics, leadership programs and other activities can become an important part of a student's school experience.

How involved is the school community?

Look for PTO involvement, School Advisory Councils, family events and volunteer opportunities.

What does the school commute actually look like?

If you're seriously considering a particular Crestview home, drive from that house to the school during actual arrival or dismissal.

A seven-minute drive on Sunday afternoon may feel completely different on a weekday morning.

Moving to Crestview, FL With a Military Family

Crestview is popular with military families connected to Eglin Air Force Base, Duke Field and Hurlburt Field.

Several Crestview schools provide military-family resources, and school location may become an important consideration when balancing your child's routine with a parent's commute to the installation.

If you're PCSing to Eglin AFB or moving to Northwest Florida, think about the entire daily routine when choosing a home—not simply the home's distance from the base.
